August 2015

Dear Partner,

picture-steve"An apple a day keeps the doctor away." People have long recognized the importance of prevention in maintaining a healthy life. In this issue of the Fedelta newsletter, we'll be discussing numerous preventive measures you can take to increase your health and well-being.

Immunizations are an important factor in preventing many diseases and August is National Immunization Awareness Month. In addition to vaccinations, you can help prevent all sorts of maladies by becoming a pet owner – animals provide all sorts of health benefits for people. We'll also discuss ways to prevent one of the most prevalent dangers to seniors – falling. About 2.5 million older adults are treated every year in emergency rooms across America after a fall. The good news is that many falls are preventable.

By being aware of changes in our physical well-being and seeing our doctors on a regular basis, we have a better chance of preventing disease and accidents. Until next time, stay well!

Fedelta Feedback

"When one of the Fedelta care managers arrived at my mother's home, he found my mother in the middle of a heart attack. The care manager immediately called 911 and got her to the hospital with enough time to get on vital medications. My mother is recovering now and we are grateful for Fedelta saving our mother's life."  – Rosemarie, Daughter
